Bat watch: Staggering population declines in Pennsylvania

Southwestern Pennsylvania bats were part of a new large national study that flagged a die-off nationally of more than 90% of three species of bat in less than a decade. The bats in substantial decline are the northern long-eared, little brown and tri-colored bats. All of those bat species are found in Pennsylvania.
